Celtic Shores
41st Anniversary Ball Weekend
March 9-11, 2018
Madison Scottish Country Dancers are thrilled to welcome A Parcel of Rogues (Calum Pasqua, fiddle, and Susie Petrov, piano) back to the shores of Loch Mendota. Join us at the University of Wisconsin Memorial Union's newly renovated Great Hall for our 41st annual ball!
The weekend schedule includes:
• A Friday evening concert showcasing the best in Scottish music, old and new
• A Saturday morning dance workshop with Susie, focusing on form and technique
• A reception, dinner and ball in the resplendent grandeur of Great Hall
• Our not-to-be-missed after-ball party and Sunday brunch, in true Madison tradition!
For those who have not yet experienced the joy of listening and dancing to Calum and Susie's music, you are in for a treat! In 2007 Calum won the Glenfiddich Scottish Fiddle Competition at Blair Castle in Scotland, where he was the first American ever invited to compete. He is also a US Scottish Fiddle Champion. Susie, who plays piano and accordion, is an accomplished RSCDS teacher who has taught Scottish music and dance across the US and in Canada, Scotland, Netherlands, Germany, France and Italy.
Susie and Calum have some 50+ years of Scottish Country Dancing experience between them and have performed for concerts, balls, summer camps and in biker bars in Queens.
As an added bonus, our ball weekend coincides with the Madison Celtic Festival, which will also take place at the Memorial Union. Tickets must be purchased separately. Weekend attendees may take advantage of Festival events during breaks in our schedule.*
